FREE Intro to Fly Fishing class: Saturday, June 22


Join us Saturday, June 22, for our free Introduction to Fly Fishing class. You'll learn the basics to get on the water and start catching fish. We'll have a hands-on fly casting lesson, as well as presentations on equipment, tying knots, choosing flies, finding fish and much more. This is a great way to begin your fly fishing journey or to brush up on basic skills before your next trip. 

This class is free and open to the public, but you must register in advance to attend. We'll provide coffee and donuts, as well as water and other refreshments. 

Time and location: 
Saturday, June 22
8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Derby Day Fishing Contest & BBQ Picnic

We had a great morning at our May club meeting at Vince and Marsha Maraculio's lake and home. Bass and bream were on the fly, and we had several new members and guests join us. Thanks to everyone who made this event a great success!

Casting 4 A Cure: 2024 Trout Rodeo on the White River


Earlier this year, Casting 4 A Cure held a Trout Rodeo on the White River to benefit Rett Syndrome research and LeBonheur Children's Hospital.

This is a fly only event and 100% of all proceeds goes back to the charity. Next year's event will be February 8, 2025. Entry fee is $200 per angler.

Mission Statement

The mission and purpose of the Mid-South Fly Fishers is to improve and increase the sport of fly fishing in the Mid-South; to encourage and advocate conservation in the waters of the Mid-South; to encourage and assist others to become fly fishers; to promote the pleasure and fellowship of its members; and to engage in such activities as may be necessary and expedient for the achievement of the above stated purposes.
