Join us Saturday, September 19, 2026 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for our Club Picnic. Bring the whole family for a morning of fly fishing followed by lunch. We have exclusive access to a private lake that is loaded with bass and bluegill The event is free and open to members and non-members. For those new to the sport, no experience or gear is needed. We'll have fly rods for use if you don't have one. Club members will offer instruction on basic casting. There is no charge, but please register so we can provide food and beverages. Fly Fishing Social & Auction Featuring Duane Hada
The best part of this sport has always been the people in it. Join us for an evening with Duane Hada, Artist of the Ozarks. Duane spent 30-plus years as a fly fishing instructor and guide, hosted destination angling trips around the world, and has been inducted into the Arkansas Game & Fish Outdoor Hall of Fame. He has also received the James A. Henshall Lifetime Achievement Award for his conservation work and contributions to the sport. When he talks about water, fishing, and art, it's worth listening. Come hear some great stories from Duane and enjoy hors d'oeuvres and drinks. We'll have a raffle and silent auction stocked with gear, trips, and art. Register Now
Duane Hada Water Color Class
Spend Sunday with a brush instead of a rod.
Duane Hada grew up fishing and hunting the Buffalo Wilderness and Crooked Creek, studied art education at UCA, and built a life out of the two things he loves most: fly fishing and painting. For three decades he guided anglers and hung his own watercolors in his fly shop, where clients bought them to remember a catch or a morning on the river. Today he works out of Rivertown Gallery in Mountain Home, Arkansas, where his landscapes and fish replicas draw collectors from across the country.
In this hands-on watercolor class, Duane will walk you through the techniques behind that misty Ozark atmosphere — depth, light, water, and the fish beneath it. Register Now
Class is Full Memphis area fly tiers! Johnny Jackson and the Mid-South Fly Fishers will host the next level Intermediate Fly Tying Class beginning September 1 at 6:00 pm. The class will meet on Tuesday evenings for 5 weeks at the Orvis Memphis Store. The exception will be we will meet on September 21 instead of September 22 due to a previous store engagement. Class meeting dates are September 1, 8, 15, 21, and 29. The registration cost for the class is $50 — registrations are limited. Details & Registration
